A few weeks ago, we got together with Poorvi and Mike for their engagement photos in Chesapeake City, Maryland – a few weeks ahead of their intimate elopement wedding at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. Their engagement session included nerf guns, silly straws, and lots of fun – so I knew we were in for a good time for their wedding.

Poorvi and Mike chose to get married at the zoo because they love animals. Poorvi’s favorite animal is the penguin, and Mike’s is the polar bear – both of which are at the Maryland Zoo! Not only could we see them in their exhibits, but at the zoo you can have a penguin ambassador come to the wedding for pictures with you and your guests. So this past Wednesday they were married at the zoo, with 20 of their closest friends and family and Dawn the penguin in attendance. Poorvi and Mike got ready at Poorvi’s parents house and then we went to the zoo to explore the grounds and take portraits before the ceremony. We got photo bombed by several animals throughout the day – so fun! The evening ended with a dinner party at Red Brick Station in White Marsh. Here are a few of our favorites from their special day!
