Lexy + Joey | Southern MD Engagement Session

November 14, 2013 Lexy + Joey | Southern MD Engagement Session

I heart this couple big time. Lexy and Joey are so fun and so quirky and from the first time we met, I felt like we could be friends. Lexy works in the wedding industry and it was a huge compliment having her choose me over the many talented vendors that she has been exposed to through her job! They chose to do their engagement session at Lexy’s childhood home in Prince Frederick on the Patuxent River. Who knew that one place could be so amazing? Her parents’ home is a farm, on a beach. Magical, right? This session was a photographer’s dream. Two fun and totally adorable people, an amazing location, and gorgeous evening light.

When I got to the house, I was greeted by Lexy’s parents and sister, and felt at home immediately. Her family is so warm and welcoming and I loved meeting them. I really hit the jackpot with this couple!

We started off close to the house by one of the barns for a few warm up shots.

And then one of the pups got out of the house and crashed the party! We took advantage of this opportune moment and got their family photo.

When the puppies were safely inside, we continued our trek throughout the property. This patch of delicious fall goodness was on the way to the docks and the beach. Did I mention that this location is amazing? Because it is.2013-11-13_0031

and here’s where Joey started “zombie-ing” her face. Somebody likes Walking Dead a *little* too much.2013-11-13_0034

On the walk back from the beach, along the dock were the most amazing cattails and the sun coming through it… Love these big time.2013-11-13_0050

After a pit stop at the house for a wardrobe change, we headed back out towards the other side of the water, directly ahead from this image.2013-11-13_0052

The last bit of sunlight peeking over the horizon made for the most amazing soft light. At this point, Lexy and Joey were professional models and all I had to do was click away.2013-11-13_0058
