Nick & Taylor’s WPOC $20k Dream Wedding

September 20, 2012 Nick & Taylor’s WPOC $20k Dream Wedding

Nick and Taylor are high school sweethearts. Earlier this year when they entered into the WPOC Dream Wedding contest they did it mostly as a joke. They didn’t really expect to even come close to winning, but sure enough, with the overwhelming support of their friends and family, they won! Just four months later it was their wedding day and it was nothing short of what was promised. It was truly a dream wedding. Assisting me to capture their day was the always amazing Jennifer Smutek! For those of you who don’t know, Jen was my wedding photographer!

September 7th was a gorgeous day. When I first arrived at Michael’s Eighth Avenue I headed straight to the garden where the ceremony was to take place to get some shots of the set up.

Taylor’s dress is completely gorgeous and I LOVE the starfish on her shoes!

As a matter of fact, I loved it so much that I used the starfish to hold the rings for the macro shots of the “bling.”

I quickly ran inside and got some of the beautiful bride getting ready before we got some photos of the girls before the ceremony.

After I finished up with the girls the guys joined me outside for their turn. As you can see, they quite enjoyed this process.

Michael’s has such a gorgeous space for outdoor weddings!

Thank you Jen for getting this great shot of Nick seeing his bride for the first time. Her reaction is priceless :)

They chose to write their own vows. Their ceremony was full of laughter, tears of joy, and pure emotion.

We had about 45 minutes between the end of the ceremony and sunset to get all of the family, bridal party, and bride and groom pictures done… and well, we rocked the time crunch!

What a gorgeous couple!

After we finished up outside it was time to head into the banquet hall for their reception. The reception was beach themed! I’m a little bit obsessed with their cake and topper. Taylor made the topper herself!

The bride and groom entered the party in style…

…and ended their first dance in style.

And not only are Taylor and Nick a blast, but so are their friends and family! They truly knew how to party!

To avoid overwhelming you all with a ton of photos, I’m just including this one from the bouquet toss/garter toss. I find this photo completely hysterical.

Nick and Taylor, Thank you SO much for choosing Photography by Brea to capture your day. You two are the sweetest and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
