Alex and Jimmy’s Pond View Farm Wedding this past weekend was amazing! I’m so excited to share my favorites on the blog today.
The Proposal
From the bride: Jimmy and I met at the firehouse. We become quick friends and started to date immediately, ironically becoming roommates at the same time. We knew this would either be really good, or really bad; but, we didn’t want to think that far ahead. A year later, Jimmy proposed! I almost ruined the proposal. It was on Thanksgiving day and his family decided to play pictionary. When it was jimmy’s turn, I obnoxiously yelled, “engagement ring,” and only his grandmother laughed with me. I got a sense of shock from other family members which I did not understand at the time! We would tease each other all the time about getting married, yelling it out wasn’t out of the norm for our sarcastic humor. Well, Jimmy started to draw a hand, and then a ring on that hand. Which I then yelled, “That’s what I said, engagement ring?!” He then looked at me and smiled and drew a stick figure man proposing to a stick figure girl. I then questioned his drawling, saying, “proposal?” He looked right up at me and shook his head yes. Proceded to the table next to him to grab a large black box and then walked over to me. I then decided to stand up with him and he kneeled, popped open a box with a candy ring pop in it, and spit out as fast as he could, “will you marry me?” I was completely shocked. First, I did not think he was going to propose on that day and two, when a woman predicts an engagement, she thinks, “oh it will be this short story of his love towards you, the full name, then boom! The magical four words that make your heart race!” So needless to say, my response was, “can I eat it?” He then laughed and told me that I have to answer him. My face flushed and I threw my hands up saying “yes.” The next week we went out to have my great-grandmothers diamond reset into a beautiful platinum solitaire. I know I am excited for our adventure to continue and grow with this marriage! Hopefully more funny stories along the way as well!
The Wedding
Alex and Jimmy’s engagement session last year was one of my favorites of all time. I got one of my favorite images ever that day but more importantly, I had so much fun hanging out with these two wonderful, warm human beings. I knew their wedding would be special and it definitely did not disappoint. Alex and Jimmy were laid back and carefree all day–except maybe with that one situation with the forgotten box of stuff. It was truly a blast being around these two and their wonderful friends and family. A few of my favorites on the blog now :)
