Every so often, I have the honor of photographing a wedding that is good for the soul. Kelly and Joshua’s Eagles Nest Country Club wedding was just that for me. Kelly has been a part of my life for the last twelve years. On the wedding day I got to be by her side, spending the day with friends that have become family, and capturing a one of a kind love. It’s days like this that make this job the best around.

About the Engagement

Joshua and Kelly went to Florida for a vacation in May of 2015 to visit friends and family and relax at the beach. Little did Kelly know, that she’d be leaving with a fiancé too! While they were at dinner one night, a few of Kelly’s local friends were out on the beach setting up dozens of tea lights in the shape of two little words and a question mark. After dinner, Kelly was exhausted and didn’t feel like doing much else. It took some work to get her out on the balcony to “view the sunset” but with some coercing from Josh and Kelly’s friend Montana, she gave in, and those two little words “Marry Me?” were answered with a yes!

The Wedding

Kelly and Josh’s wedding was an emotional one for me! My best friend’s baby sister was getting married! I still remember talking with Josh over lunch one day about Kelly’s first boyfriend – and here we are 12 years later and that pre teen is now a grown woman in her wedding dress, marrying the man of her dreams. Yep, I cried a lot. While she was getting ready, during the ceremony, for Bud’s speech (3 father of the bride/groom speeches I’ve witnessed and every single one has made me cry), and for the father daughter dance – and then again even harder when Josh started dancing with little Quinn too. Nothing’s more special than capturing a wedding day for people you love.

Kelly got ready at their home in Baltimore, and then we headed to Eagles Nest Country Club in Towson, Maryland for their first look. Unfortunately it was raining at the time, but we were able to get some photos done under cover while we waited for the sun to come out – which it did, just in time for everything else to go as planned! It was such a beautiful day, for two really, really wonderful people, and I’m so thankful I was able to be a part of it.
