September 11, 2014 Lauren + Joe | Chesapeake Beach Resort + Spa Wedding
I love it when things work out perfectly, and that’s the theme of Lauren and Joe’s gorgeous wedding day. There was a threat of intense thunderstorms that could potentially hit and ruin their plans for an outdoor wedding, but the rain waited until right after we got the party going inside and get this– STOPPED in time for everyone to leave safely! And it was a CRAZY storm! You can even see it in the background of some of their portraits over the water! Everything about Lauren and Joe’s wedding turned out as perfect as it could have possibly turned out. From weather, to the gorgeous details, the beautiful emotion during their ceremony that had me fighting back tears along with the mothers, bridesmaids, groom, and many others, everything was perfect.
I couldn’t be more excited to share the photos from their wedding day!
The Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa is such a gorgeous place to have a wedding, and we were so lucky with the beautiful weather. I was so excited to be able to take Lauren’s dress outside for a few photos!
How amazing is Lauren’s bouquet? I don’t even know what this grassy mossy thing is… but I love it.

As you may remember from their engagement session, Lauren’s best friend Heather passed away several years ago. To honor her memory, Lauren had a photo of Heather adorned to her bouquet, and she and her bridesmaids who were all close with Heather had three daisies in their bouquet in her honor.
Right as it was time for the ceremony to begin the skies started to turn the most amazing colors with gorgeous clouds. I couldn’t have asked for it to be any better.
It was so emotional waiting for Lauren to walk down the aisle. I loved watching Joe’s anticipation.
So happy!!

The room was STUNNING! One of the employees at the venue even told me this was the nicest he’d seen it look all year!

The newlyweds entered and went straight into their first dance.
After a handful of lovely speeches and parents dances, the party truly began. And party they did!
